Undivided is a loop-based sample pack built entirely from one-mic drum takes — recorded using four different microphones, each placed in a unique position around the kit and processed completely differently.
The result? Every beat in this pack comes with four distinct sonic versions, each offering a totally different vibe and texture:
The Classic — A fat ribbon mic placed above my shoulder, with lush compression and a full lo-fi sound.
The Omni — Captured with a U87 mic in omni mode, hidden inside a rolled rug in front of the kit. Heavily compressed, with vicious bite and crunch.
The Sawdust — A 414 mic in figure-8 mode placed underneath the snare. Delivers a sharp, "sawdust-like" bite — almost like a Cajón, but with the brutal energy of live drums.
The Smashed! — Captured by a trusty SM57 duct-taped to the studio floor, pointed at the wooden floorboards. Processed with smashing compression, saturation, and a slight pitch shift for a super-smashed, gritty feel.
It's like hearing the same loop through four different realities.
